Stalking

Stalking involves willfully, maliciously, and repeatedly following or harassing someone, making a credible threat that causes reasonable fear for their safety or their family's safety.

This is a wobbler offense, meaning it can be charged as:

• Misdemeanor: Up to 1 year in county jail, $1,000 fine, or both.

• Felony: 2, 3, or 5 years in state prison.
